4 Star Hotels in Chiang Mai

Tourists to this Northern cultural gem are pleasantly surprised at how affordable Chiang Mai 4 star hotels can be, even during the period from December to February, the months when northern Thailand's largest city welcomes the majority of its visitors. Chiang Mai is far more relaxed and authentic than other tourist hubs in Thailand, being a 700-year old city surrounded by a moat and seeped in history. There is a trend to blend in, with boutique hotels built in local heritage style and benefitting from large spaces for gardens and resort facilities. In most cases you can step out of your hotel and soon find yourself at a serene temple or staring at an ancient crumbling pagoda.
A lot of the city’s 4 star hotels are in the city centre and can be found either close to the city's legendary night market or its centuries-old walled city. Chiang Mai also contains the country's biggest concentration of restaurants outside of Bangkok in addition to at least 30 ancient temples, many of which are easy to reach on foot from most the 4 star hotels in Chiang Mai.
There are also plenty of Chiang Mai hotels placed in scenic surrounding rural districts like Mae Taeng, Mae Rim, Sankampaeng, Hang Dong, or Doi Saket. Mountains and rice paddies where water buffaloes roam are the scenes visitors should expect to see from the windows of the four-star spa resorts and other establishments located outside of Chiang Mai.
A handful of the 4 star hotels situated close to the mountainous Wat Phra That Doi Suthep temple are designated spa resorts. In addition to all of the modern amenities found at all 4 star hotels, these picturesque spa resorts also offer wellness treatments, detoxification procedures, yoga classes, and traditional Thai massages.
Intricate hand carved fretwork is one of the qualities of the traditional Lanna architecture used to build many 4 star hotels and spa resorts. Some guests can be accommodated at private or family villas. Standard amenities at both mid-range urban and rural 4 star hotels include massage services, spas, swimming pools, and convention and fitness centres.
Staff at some of these establishments can also help guests organise Mae Ping River cruises, Mae Sa Valley excursions, or any other expeditions throughout this lovely corner of northern Thailand.
